Strategic partnerships and activities for promotion of youth sport work during the European Week of Sport

The training course "Strategic partnerships and activities for promotion of youth sport work during the European Week of Sport" took place in Novi Sad, Serbia from 31st May to 8th June 2016. It gathered 32 participants, trainers and staff members from 14 partner organizations from 13 different countries (Serbia, Albania, Montenegro, Croatia, FYR Macedonia, Slovenia, Italy, Romania, Bulgaria, Spain, Malta, Estonia and Cyprus). Participants were all youth workers already involved or willing to get involved in “sport for all” activities and empowering mainstream and youth with fewer opportunities through different sport and outdoor activities.

CUS Padova participated in the training course with one representative, in order to learn more about envisioning and promoting quality youth sport work events and to start strategic partnerships with other stakeholders of youth sport work for the European Week of Sport (EWS).

Specifically, the objectives of the training course were to:

​

  • Exchange realities on sports and youth work in European countries;

  • Exchange different sport methods/games from European countries and thus inspire the development of creative and innovative activities of youth sport work;

  • Define quality criteria and standards for the development of strategic partnerships among youth NGOs and organisations of youth sport workers;

  • Discuss sport and health policies in EU and candidate countries and further promote sport and health enhancing physical activities, especially by organizing youth sport work activities and events for the EWS;

  • Achieve common understanding of suitable youth sport work activities to be organised during the EWS;

  • Understand how to promote “Sports for all” and health-enhancing physical activities concepts through the Erasmus+ Programme;

  • Develop new sport projects and future European level cooperation among participating organizations.
